Tis the season for shopping!
We are hitting the malls now, more than ever and stocking up on the Christmas Gifts. But, with shopping increasing, so does theft! If you are leaving your bags in the car this season, it’s important to take the extra percussions to keep your purchases safe!
Here are some ways to ensure your gifts stay safe this holiday season:
PUT THEM UNDER THE SEAT
Don’t put your purchases on display – put them under your seat on in the trunk! Out of sight, out of mind.
LOCK YOUR VEHICLE (at all times)
Running into the store quick to grab some eggnog? Make sure your vehicle is locked, even if it’s just a quick absence, it only takes a few minutes to steal your valuables.
DON’T LEAVE CAR RUNNING UNATTENDED
It’s cold out there – we get it! If you planning on warming up your vehicle before leaving your house or the mall then don’t leave it running unattended. You might find your gifts gone, along with your car!
DON’T PARK IN THE DARK
Thieves love to steal in dark, unattended spots. So, if you have the choice, pick a parking stall that is well lit and in view of other people or cameras. This will keep your stuff safe!
Above all else, remember – if someone is trying to steal your stuff, it’s ONLY stuff. Never let yourself get in a position where you could be hurt, it’s not worth it. Stay safe this holiday season!
