A car wash is… Eco Friendly?
I bet you never considered washing your car at the local car wash MORE environmentally friendly than washing your vehicle at home.
However, most car washes have put processes in place to be as efficient as possible, and cause less damage to our neighborhoods and eco system.
Still wondering how this is possible? Here are some of the facts…
Biodegradable Ingredients
Most car washes use biodegradable ingredients to wash the vehicles that visit. They take the extra steps not to use damaging products, unlike some of the house hold cleaners that you could use!
Recycled Water
Most car washes capture and recycle water used throughout your car wash, so that there is limited waste. It is in their best interest not to use too much water, so they are constantly looking for ways to reuse water that is running through the wash.
Equipment
Most car washes maintain their equipment often, to ensure they are at their maximum efficiency to minimize water usage. Pumps and computer-controlled systems are in place to use as little water as possible for a maximum effect. The equipment located at a car wash is WAY for efficient than your standard garden hose, which will end up wasting a lot more water than you need.
Re-Treated Water
By law (in US and Canada), carwashes have to dispose of their water into the sewer to get retreated before it gets released into open water systems. The chemicals, soaps and more will be gone by the time it returns, unlike washing your vehicle at home.
Protect Mother Nature
When washing your car at home, it is suggested that you wash it on your lawn or directly onto soil where it can be absorbed. If you are washing your car on the driveway, the soap and chemicals you are using to wash your car are pouring down the street, into open waterways and can be VERY tempting for little thirsty animals.
